Vanilla Chai Tea Cookie Recipe

You asked, and you shall receive. Last weekend, I made a poll that asked if I should release my Chai Tea Cookie recipe out to everyone. 95% of you said yes! With the recipe being perfect for Autumn and Winter, I thought this would be the best cookie recipe to have for both season. Now I don't want to jinx it, and say this cookie is the right fit for everyone, but you cannot hate a Chai Tea Cookie. Okay that's enough ranting right now, lets get right into the recipe!

Ingredients:

For Cookie Dough:

  • 1/2 cup of room temperature butter

  • 1/2 cup of vegtable oil

  • 1 egg

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/2 cup sugar (brown or regular...up to you!)

  • 1-2 chai tea bags

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For Glazing:

  • 1 cup of powder sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder

  • 3 teaspoon of eggnog

Other:

  • Parchment Paper

Directions:

Making Chai Cookie Dough:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. Add butter into bowl and beat until smooth

  3. Mix it with vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract until dissolved

  4. Add powdered sugar, sugar, and 1-2 tea bags of chai tea (depending on how strong you want the chai to be, default is 1) and mix till dissolved

  5. Add flour, baking soda, and salf and mix till dissolved

  6. Sit in refridgerator for 1 hour

  7. Set your parchment paper on your baking tray

  8. After sitting, take it out & scoop 1 tablespoon of chai cookie dough to lay on baking tray

  9. Once oven is done preheating, place batch into oven and leave it in for 10-15 minutes. (*Use toothpick to test if cookie is ready after 10 minutes)

  10. After ready, let it set for 2 minutes

  11. Use a spoon to add your glaze on top. (Be fancy! Decorate it the way you want to!) (*Refer to Glaze instruction below)

  12. BONUS: Sprinkle cinnamon on top

  13. Enjoy!

Making Glazing:

  1. Add powdered sugar, nugmeg, cinnamon, and eggnog.

  2. Mix until color is tan & has a cream texture.

To help get into the holidays, here's a Christmas playlist that you can play while making these fresh batch of cookies. Hope this helps, and until then my Chimera fam!
