CHRISTMAS
Christmas 2022 House Tour: Part 1
Welcome to the start of the Christmas house tour that I have for you for 2022. This year I am doing something completely different. In the past, I've always done a YouTube video that would guide you throughout the space, but due to my time constraint of finishing my final year of college and doing my school's senior projects. I've made the choice to alter my Christmas content this year for the sake of my mentality. It was hard to make this decision, but I knew if I wanted to make videos over the holiday season, I would completely drain myself out, which would be a very bad mindset to be in. Therefore, to provide you the content that I wish I could've have done on YouTube, I've decided to reveal my first part of my Christmas decor through text! I hope this makes it up for you as I truly do value my mind and really hope that I get the necessary break doing this season. Now, let's get right to the showcase, shall we?

For part 1 of my reveal, I am going to start in my bedroom, because it was the first thing I wanted to decorate when I was back home for Thanksgiving break. My concept that I wanted to apply in this year's Christmas was using what I had to make it feel new this year. What does that mean? Well, instead of having everything placed in the same exact spot, I decided to switch a few decors around the room that would make the decor feel "new" this year. When you walk into my room, the first impression that you see if my bed. Obviously, I wanted to tie in the organic green finishes that I had this year with the earth tone brown that I had going on around my room. By combining the two colors together to make one theme, I was able to create a theme that feels new without going to big on my buck.

One small new thing that I did to my bed it purchases a new small Christmas pillow that makes a huge difference on my bed. When I tell you that pillows make all the difference in the world, I truly mean it. This pillow that I purchase was from the Hearth and Hand collection from Target. I love the small touch of green that this pillow has as a pine tree along with the cream base color of the pillow. I feel like it honestly ties together with the room so well!

As you can see from the two photos above, the color of the Christmas throw pillow matches the color of my throw blanket. I wanted to make sure each item on my bed intertwines with each other that doesn't stand out in the wrong way. I felt by purchasing this throw, it settles in my room quite nicely.

Now lets scoot right over to my dresser shall we?

My dresser hasn't really changed much since last year. If anything, this dresser is one of the major places that I didn't really change much since I thought it was perfect the way it was with Christmas. The only few touches that I changed this year compared to last year were these three things.
First thing's first, I swapped out the candle, last year when it was the Holidays, I had a dark green Hearth and Hand Birch candle. This year, the candle that I have is still from Hearth and Hand, but the name of the candle is cedar that has a brass color holder that matches the bedsheets of my bed.

One life hack that you probably know is how I applied a block of wood underneath my mini-Christmas tree. If you remember the reason, it was due to the fact that I wanted to have three different heights when it came to doing the odds rule. If it wasn't for the block of wood underneath (that's being covered by my fluffy snow) the tree height would be the same height as the lamp which would ruin the idea of achieving different heights. Crazy how a small object can make such a big difference?

a fun hack that I did with my lamp! Although it was nice to have a little touch of Christmas on the left and center of my dresser, my lamp was lacking in that. I did not want to overdue the decoration on my dresser, but I just wanted a small touch that makes a difference. When ordering my vintage bells from Amazon this year, they gave me tiny bell that I didn't know what to do with it at first. That was when I discovered that I could tie the bell onto the light switch of my lamp. By doing so, it gave it a touch of Christmas without competing with the other decors on my dresser.
Let's now move over to the right side of my bed....

If I were to choose which wall as my favorite, I would say that this would be the one. Even though this wall is simplistic, I believe the few touches that I've included have stood out in its own ways. One thing that I love about this wall is the pom pom wreath that I made a few years back. I decided to include in this year's decoration with a small twist. By adding the wreath above my bulletin board, it felt like it was there, but it wasn't doing enough to stand out in its own way. One small addition that I did to this wreath is add twinkle lights on it that gave its own shimmer. Honestly, I love the small addition that I added to it, and I wouldn't change anything else about that wall.
On my bulletin board, I decided to do the same thing as last year. By adding three post cards that color coordinate with my room it gave it that homely/vintage vibe I was looking for.
Shall we move to the wall above my bed now.... :)

Not much has changed above my bed for this Holiday. One thing I want to mention though that I did last year was this quick hack to help implement Christmas onto this wall. When I was at Target last year, I purchased this wreath that I wasn't for sure, at first, to place this wreath. This was when I got the idea to hang it in front of this boho basket that I had on this wall. By filing in the basket with this wreath, it added the necessary decor that didn't interfere with the other decor that existed on my wall. To me, this was a nice touch that I liked about this wall.

Another area that I decorated that deserves some recognition is this wall that is on the right side of my T.V.. I didn't change anything about the space, but I loved how I was able to change my letterboard to be a little more festive this Holiday. One final touch that I did on this wall was place a sleigh wall decor on top of it to give it that minimalistic feel of Christmas to this corner.
If you finally made it to the end, I want to say thank you for taking a small walk around my room to see what I did this year for Christmas. Although there isn't much that has changed since last year, I believe by place your existing Christmas decor in new places, it can give you the impression that they are just as new as when you bought them. Stay tune though as I will be posting my part 2 of my Christmas Home Tour soon. For Part 2, I will be focusing on outside of my room such as: my Christmas tree, staircase garland, and fireplace garland. Until then, I will see you soon!
